Introduction

Every week I ride my road bike into town, choose a coffee shop for the morning and sit down at my computer to type. This day is my “Me Day”, and I take time to process through some really hard things. It’s always really good but also really hard. It’s like uncovering old wounds and cleaning them out so they can heal. Painful but necessary in order for new cells to grow.

And I want to grow. I want to change. I want to do the hard work of digging deep into why I think and feel the way I do so I can better understand myself and find freedom from what no longer serves me. This process usually takes a lot of miles on my road bike, a couple of hours at a coffee shop writing, and then more miles on my bike as I listen to great podcasts and good music. It’s a day of healing for me. A day of discovery. A day to step out of all my roles in life and enjoy some time to just be me. It’s so good for me; and I hope that reading this brings good to you also and encourages you to find time to explore the beautiful being inside you.

Okay. Before you start reading any farther, there a couple things you should know.

  1. The writings in this blog are raw — NOT well thought out, carefully-crafted words with specific intentions. They are, however, honest glimpses into my life where I struggle to make sense of my world.

2. If you get offended easily, prefer a clean and tidy approach, or do not tolerate people with a “dirty mouth”, you may want to stop reading here.

3. I will not tiptoe around difficult subjects, try to please anyone, attempt to convince people to agree with my views, or provide the public with what I think they are looking for. This blog is not about you. It’s about me. Surprise!!

So with all that being said — if you are still here — sit back and relax, grab your favorite hot drink, and prepare to smile as you realize that you aren’t the only person on this planet struggling to learn how to be human.
